Musical Meadows Music

A Passion for Bach, Bluegrass, and Bob Wills…

I’m Moving

Yes, I’m alive.

I’ve been busy! With school, mainly.

So I opened up my blog, and it just felt old. Musty, if you will.

Soooo… rather than clean this blog up, so to speak, I’ve decided to start a nice, shiny, new blog!

So head on over to !

See ya there!

So… I fell in love!

Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be good to tell you that I fell in love.

He’s handsome :)

He has a deep voice :)

He’s easy-going :)

He’s unique :)

He’s sitting in my room with me right now :)

He likes to play music too :)

He’s so sweet!

Anyways, his name is Collin, and I met him last Saturday. He swept me right of my feet!

Later, the two of us are going to play sappy 1940’s love songs together!

Here’s a picture of us together:

Wait, what? You say that’s a viola? Well, of COURSE it’s a viola! It’s my awesome new viola I named Collin!

What? You thought it was a BOY? Well, of course not, silly! I’m only 16! I’m too young to have a boyfriend!

‘Course, he didn’t buy me chocolates, but that’s okay.

NYC – the complete picture overview!

Some of my FASA friends being funny!

Pretty Hailey!

The M&M store!!!

New York Pizza!

New York Cheesecake!

The Giant Piano of FAO Schwartz

It's Captain Jack Sparrow! Made out of Legos... complete with his gold tooth!!!

Lovely Lady Liberty... made out of more Legos!

The glass cube is the Apple Store - you walk inside, get on a glass elevator, and it lowers you into the store underground. It's cool!

A cool picture of the Apple Store

New York Hot Dog

Avery Fisher Hall!!!

Inside Avery Fisher Hall

It says "Jazz". I like jazz. I took a picture of it. Because it says jazz.

Pretty lighted trees

Times Square! Only a few blocks from my hotel!

Rehearsal with Camp Kirkland

From the Empire State Building

The Juilliard Store! I bought a t-shirt and pencils!

It's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!! No really, it was Practically Perfect!

Perri and I found a giant Elmo!

I believe this one was pastrami... or corned beef... anyways, it was HUGE! I couldn't even finish half of it!

Yup, it was cold!

The Stage Door

Warming up... or more accurately, jamming!

At this point, I must point out that backstage Carnegie Hall is… unattractive. It’s not half as glamorous as one would think, seeing it’s one of the most famous music halls in the world. Oh, and there were 2 elevators that were being held together by duct tape… we took the stairs. Oh, and it’s REALLY confusing in there; total maze with multiple staircases and elevators that each take you to a different spot… I got myself lost (by myself) in there – I took the wrong staircase and ended up at a fire exit only door. But I found my way back. Now the hall itself… absolutely breathtakingly spectacularly gorgeous! It was such an honor to play there!

The concert - taken by the professional photographer they hired

The small side of the harp is pointing right at me!

Those two lighted buildings are two of the buildings replacing the World Trade Center

It's dark, but that's Ellis Island!

The Statue of Liberty!!!

Probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!

What happens when you take a bunch of fun-loving musicians, a reason to celebrate, and a boat with singing waitstaff? GIANT FLOATING DANCE PARTY AT MIDNIGHT!!!! The dance floor was crowded!!! It was a blast! (Though, as an Irish Step Dancer, I have NO idea what to do with my arms when I dance!)

Goodbye NYC - You were awesomesause!

Flying out at night is breathtaking! This picture does no justice to it's loveliness!

We changed planes in DC - you can see both the Washington Monument and the White House in this picture!

And now, as a bonus, pictures of the cutest little baby in the world! May I present… David Dupre! (Annie’s baby!)

Look at that big smile! So cute!

Baby David loves his mommy!

Aunty Camille gives David a harp lesson

No Internet… But NYC is awesome!

Okay, so there’s only Internet down in the lobby, so I can’t really post. I’ll do one big giant post when I get home. For now I’ll just say… NYC IS AWESOME!!! And a bunch of my FASA friends are here too! So until then… Bye!!!

From the plane

This plane has WiFi!!! How cool is that!

Anyways, I’m going to try to do a bunch of short updates instead of a couple big ones. So for right now…

That’s the plane and my reading material. Yes, that is a whole book about technique. Yes, I know that’s not standard airplane reading material. Yes, I know I’m a music nerd.

Armed with bubblegum, my ears have temporarily stopped popping. That’s the only thing I don’t like about planes. Interesting, though – only my right ear pops. Guess that has something to do with my hearing, but I don’t see how since my hearing loss is neurological, not physical.

I’ll write more later!!!

In Dallas

Here we are, at our hotel in Dallas. I had a major giggle attack on the way here. I couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard! And I wasn’t laughing at anything… I was just laughing uncontrollably for no reason. Anyway, I like this place:

The beds are sleep numbers, and they put Gummy Bears on the pillows! What's not to like?!?

There's a flower next to the free soap. Isn't that pretty?

Isn't the tissue box pretty? I don't want to blow my nose with it!!!

We’re getting up at 4:45 tomorrow morning… my next post will be from *sings* N Y C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Texas Christmas, Y’all!

Merry Texas Christmas, you all!

Merry Texas Christmas, you all!

May your days be sunny and bright

May your hearts be happy and light

Merry Texas Christmas, you all!

We have no jingle bells or sleigh

To display on Christmas Day

There’s not much snow down Texas way

But we sure mean it when we say…
